Died: 1/26/2013

Mrs. Elizabeth M. Przybysz Zanzoth, known fondly as “Betty,” age 89, of Newark, DE, formerly of New Castle, passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2013.
Born in Wilmington on January 21, 1924, Betty was the daughter of the late William Przybysz and Elsie Powalski Przybysz. She grew up in the Hedgeville area and was a 1942 graduate of Wilmington High School. During World War II, Betty proudly assisted in the war effort, working at the Dravo Shipyard in Wilmington. It was there that she met her future, loving husband, Roland S. “Ronnie” Zanzoth, to whom she was happily married for 65 years until his passing in 2010.
Betty greatly enjoyed traveling throughout her life, especially vacationing in Wildwood Crest. A devout Catholic, she was a longtime member of Holy Spirit parish. Most of all, she delighted in spending time with her beloved family.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Betty was preceded in death by her sister, Marcella D’Onofrio and brother, William Przybysz. She is survived by her children, Patricia Madden of Lebanon, PA, Richard Zanzoth and wife Carol of Pike Creek, and Lorraine Cooper and husband Donald of Bear; sister, Marie Fialkowski of Wilmington; grandchildren, Christine Beatty, John and Sarah Madden, Mark and Nicole Zanzoth, Mitchell, Kelsey, and Nathan Cooper; and great grandson, Marshall Beatty.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 12 noon on Tuesday, February 5th, at Holy Spirit R.C. Church, 12 Winder Road, Garfield Park, New Castle, where visitation will begin at 11 am. Interment will follow in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Betty may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
