Ellen Mary Kein

Ellen Mary Kein, age 78, of Middletown, DE, passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2023.
Born and raised in Hoboken, NJ on March 16, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Matthew and Mary (Maroney) Spanier. Ellen was a graduate of A.J. Demarest High School. She spent 30 years working in credit and collections as well as office management, primarily with Warner-Lambert and Bell Atlantic.
Ellen loved to travel, she took great joy in exploring new places and seeing the scenic views of a new country. She also enjoyed viewing wildlife, even collecting black bears. Ellen could often be found knitting and creating beautiful pieces for her loved ones. Above all, she cherished every moment spent with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Ellen was preceded in death by her sister, Joan Earle; and brother-in-law, William Earle. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Roy Kein; sons, Michael Kein (Shannon), and Dennis Kein (Tricia); grandchildren, Alyssa, Justin, Lauren, Sarah, JD, Connor and Aidan; brother, Matthew Spanier (Cathy); as well as several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 3 pm until 5 pm on Monday, February 13, 2023, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 275 East Main Street, Middletown, DE, where a funeral service will be held at 5 pm. Interment will be held privately.
