Emily Nock

Emily Nock, age 95, of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, March 21, 2020, her 95th birthday.

Born in Crisfield, MD on March 21, 1925, she was the daughter of the late John D. and Myrtle E. (Hickman) Crockett. Together with her husband, Emily worked side by side with him to build the family business, Nock’s Garage.  While her husband worked in the garage, Emily ran the day to day activities of managing the business. They also owned and operated Motel Deville for many years.

She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, Zeta Chapter for over 50 years and a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, where she was a long time Sunday School teacher. Emily enjoyed needlework, photography and playing golf at Cavaliers Country Club.   She will also be remembered as a loving and devoted mother to her six rowdy boys.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Stanley N. Nock, Sr. and her brothers, Richard M. and Norman H. Crockett. Emily is survived by her sons, Stanley, Jr., Richard K., John M. (Heidi), Dennis W. (Nikki), Lester Q. (Marty), and Terence S. Nock; 17 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and 11 great great grandchildren.

 Services and interment will be held privately.

 In lieu of flowers, donations in Emily’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 399 Market Street, Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106.
