Erma Jean Fleck

Mrs. Erma Jean Fleck, age 88, of Newark, DE, passed away on Monday, November 5, 2012.
Born in Baggaley, PA, on August 10, 1924, Mrs. Fleck was the daughter of the late Oliver Stapleton and Hazel Lentz Stapleton. She was employed for many years as a supervisor with the former Elkton Fashions (a well-regarded manufacturer of men’s fine clothing) and would later accept a position as a cook in the Newark High School cafeteria, where she retired.
A talented homemaker, Mrs. Fleck devoted her life to caring for her beloved family. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly. In her leisure hours, she looked forward to playing bingo with friends and visiting Delaware Park.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Raymond Norman Fleck, Sr., son, Dale Thomas Fleck, sister, Virginia Zimmerman, and brother, Bud Lentz. She is survived by her sons, Raymond Norman Fleck, Jr. (Nina) of Newark, and Oliver “Ollie” Allen Fleck (fiancée Nenette Winters) of Wilmington; daughter-in-law, Leigh Fleck of Newark; sister, Sylvia Coffman of Rockhill, PA; brother, Thomas Stapleton of Spokane, WA; former daughter-in-law, Kim Fleck of Newark; grandchildren, Thomas, Tracy, Ray III, Oliver Jr. (O.J.), Magan, and Steven; and great grandchildren, Joey, Victoria, Julian, Lily, Brody, Ari, and Mason.
A funeral service will be held at 12:30 pm on Tuesday, November 13th, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, where visitation will begin at 11:30 am. Interment will follow in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear.
