Esther M. Vied, age 84, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Monday, March 15, 2021.

Born in Coatesville, PA, on September 3, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Theodore and Annie (Devenshire) Dunfee, Sr. Esther dedicated her life to creating a loving and caring family home. She was devoted to God, and sang in church when she attended many years ago. Esther loved meeting new people. She also enjoyed shopping, especially at yard sales.

In addition to her parents, Esther was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Vied and 10 siblings. She is survived by her children, Phillip Vied (Norma), Charles Vied, Sr. (Judith) and Patricia Lewendowski (Richard); siblings, Mary Nickloy and David Dunfee; 5 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 12 noon until 1 pm on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, followed by a funeral service at 1 pm. Interment will be held in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North Dupont Highway, New Castle, DE. Face masks will be required for all in attendance.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Esther’s memory to Smyrna Church of Christ, 1630 Joe Goldsborough Road, Smyrna, DE 19977.
