Evelyn M. Handel

March 19, 1930 - February 20, 2019

          Evelyn M. Handel, age 88, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 20, 2019.

          Born in Westwood, NJ, on March 19, 1930, she was a daughter of the late George and Edna Wersebe.  Evelyn was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed being a homemaker.

          In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Wayne Wersebe.  Evelyn is survived by her husband of 69 years, John Allen Handel; and children, Deborah Ann Jeltema, Cynthia Susan Handel and Bruce Allen Handel.

          A visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:30 am until 12 noon, on Friday, March 29, 2019, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 12 noon.  Interment will be held at a later date.

    We are so sorry to hear about Ms. Evie’s passing. The girls (Jennifer and Jessica) and I have enjoyed living next to you and Evie for the past 25 years. You and Evie were always so kind to us and later all the grandchildren. Evie , always will be remembered for her kindness, warmth and love of fashion and clothes.
