Evelyn May Cochran

April 20, 1934 - January 26, 2018

Evelyn May Cochran, age 83, of New Castle, Delaware, passed away on Friday, January 26, 2018.

Born in Wilmington on April 20, 1934, she was a daughter of the late James E. and Mabel (Winchester) Walker.  Evelyn dedicated her life to her family, raising her children and enjoyed being a homemaker.

She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother who was always there for all of her family.  Evelyn was a very strong willed and independent individual who posessed so much kindness her generosity was endless.

In addition to her parents, Evelyn is preceded in death by her husband, John L. Cochran; daughter, Patricia Edwards; sons, Stanley Walker, Robert Griffith, Richard White, Sr. and John White; and sisters, Louise Simpson and Barbara Walker.  She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Milburn (John) and Ellen Marie Dunford (Neal); brother James Walker, Jr. (Beulah); sisters, Janice Cheeseman and Elaine Cheeseman (George); as well as many grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 12 pm until 1pm on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 1 pm.  Interment will follow in Silverbrook Cemetery, 3300 Lancaster Pike, Wilmington, DE.
