Forrest E. Epler

March 13, 1939 - August 22, 2022

Forrest E. Epler, age 83, of Middletown, DE, passed away suddenly on Monday, August 22, 2022, at his home.

Born in Reading, PA on March 13, 1939, he was the son of the late Elwood R. and Miriam Z. (Zechman) Epler. Forrest was a graduate of Mount Penn High School. After three years of military service in Germany, he attended Kutztown University and graduated with a degree in education. Forrest taught history for almost 30 years, finishing his career at Caesar Rodney Junior High School in Camden-Wyoming. After he retired from teaching, he worked for twelve years as a docent for the Delaware State Museums. Forrest loved the arts, traveling to historic sites, listening to public radio, and watching his local PBS station.

Forrest is survived by his beloved wife, Barbra Jane (Dreibelbis) Epler; daughters, Elizabeth Bossard and Jennifer Epler (Dan Toohey); and four grandsons, Brandon Bossard (Brenna Hammond, fiancée), Justin Bossard, Connor Bossard, and Nolan Forrest Schaeffer.
