Franklin D. Wooldridge

Mr. Franklin D. Wooldridge, known fondly as “Pop Pop,” age 79, of Newark, DE, passed away on Monday, February 18, 2013.
Born in Rainelle, WV, on November 14, 1933, Mr. Wooldridge was the son of the late John B. Wooldridge and Laura Stickler Wooldridge. He made his career as a very successful sales representative in the publishing industry for over 50 years.
A seasoned and knowledgeable traveler, Mr. Wooldridge greatly enjoyed touring the country with his wife in their RV. During his travels, he had visited all of the continental United States, but particularly delighted in family vacations in Rehoboth Beach.
Mr. Wooldridge was an avid sports fan throughout his life and looked forward each season to cheering for his favorite team, the Philadelphia Eagles. He also enjoyed playing cards with friends.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley A. Juntunen Wooldridge; children, Donna M. Royer (Michael) of Newark, Robert Wooldridge (Joanne) of Newark, and Dinah A. Arterbridge of Millsboro; stepdaughter, Carole Meth (Jeff) of Landenberg, PA; brother, Paul Wooldridge of Meadow Bridge, WV; grandchildren, Shawn, Maryann, Billy, Bobby, Lori, Robert, Jeffrey, Steven, Isaac, and Owen; eight great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah L. Gray.
Services will be held privately.
