November 11, 1972 - August 29, 2024

Georgia Lee (Wilson) Delaney, age 51, of Middletown, DE, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2024.

Born in Wilmington, DE on November 11, 1972, she was a daughter of the late Willard S. and Georgia Lee (Buckley) Wilson, Jr.  Georgia graduated from Sanford School and then went onto the University of Delaware where she received her bachelor’s in history and teaching.  She had a passion for horses and was an avid rider most of her life.  That passion extended to art and history as well, as she enjoyed visiting museums in her spare time.  Georgia also was a wine enthusiast and found pleasure in sharing her love of wine with others through tastings.  Most of all she loved her friends and family, and spending time with them.

Georgia is survived by her daughter, Vivian Delaney; sisters, Wynne Esbitt, Kris Walpus, and Victoria Wilson; and many extended family and friends.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Penn Medicine Oncology Department for their exceptional care over the past several years.

There will be a Celebration of Life held on Saturday, September 28, 2024, 2-5pm at Broken Spoke Vineyard & Winery, 942 Glebe Road, Earleville, MD.

7 Condolences for Georgia Lee (Wilson) Delaney

  • My sincerest condolences to Vivian, Doug and the family of Georgia. She was such a smart, kind and wonderful person and, while she was taken from us too soon, I am happy I got to meet her and she was a part of my life. You will be missed Georgia!

  • My little cousin GG was very much part of my life and my daughters in the late 70’s and early 80’s, especially in Ocean City, NJ, Birthday parties and a little bit of horseback riding. Sadly, we lost touch after her teenage years. My love and prayers go out to my cousins, Vicky, Wynne, and Kris and to her daughter and family during this very difficult time.

  • I’m a friend of Vicky’s. I’ve been praying for your family during this difficult time. God bless you all.

  • So saddened to hear of my cousin, Gigi’s passing this week. I pray for peace, comfort, and healing for her family’s souls ~ her daughter, Vivian, and sisters ~ Wynne, Kris, and Vicky. May your family memories continue to live in your hearts and embrace each new day knowing Gigi is eternally watching over you.

  • I just can not believe she is gone. Her world was her child. Every time i spoke with Georgia, she was so ready to quit but her daughter kept her holding on. Vivian, she was so proud of you, she mourned so often knowing she would miss so much. I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful, loving mother.

  • I worked with Georgia at the Harley Davidson dealership in New Castle and she was a beautiful person inside and out. If you were to meet Georgia, you were her friend. My condolences to her family especially her daughter Vivian whom she talked a great deal
about. She’s so proud of her daughter and cherished her more then anything. Till we meet again…

  • Gigi was such a wonderful, fun loving little lady. She was very
smart and achieved a lot in
Her short time on Earth. May
    She Rest In Peace.
