Gerald R. “Jerry” Parker

Gerald R. “Jerry” Parker, age 76, of Middletown, DE, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones on Wednesday, March 12, 2025.
Born in Queens, NY on August 10, 1948, he was the oldest of 8 children born to Margarita (Plascenia) Parker and the late Joseph M. Parker. Jerry proudly served in the United States Navy for 20 years. He made his career as an electronic technician at Printack in New Castle for 32 years until his retirement.
Jerry loved being a grandpa/poppy to his grandchildren, they were the apple of his eye. He always made sure that they were taken care of and he was very proud of their accomplishments. Jerry will always be remembered for his kindness, his heart of gold, and for his smile that could light up a room.
In addition to his father, Jerry was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Skyla Lynn Beardsley. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Rita L. (Deprez) Parker; mother, Margarita Parker; children, Steven J. Parker (Adrienne), Constance Lynn Beardsley, and Margaret Spirer; grandchildren, Gwendolyn Parker, Jeremy Parker, Kristen Quinn Beardsley, and Alexander Robert George Beardsley; former son-in-law, Steve Beardsley; and siblings, Christopher Parker, Greg Parker, Joseph Parker, Lynn Gannon, Virginia Parker, Stephanie Wood, and Valerie Gannon.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 11 am until 12 pm on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton R.C. Church, 345 Bear Christiana Road, Bear, DE, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 12 pm. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Arlington National Cemetery.
