Gloria “Jeanne” Freeman
March 31, 1961 - July 10, 2022
Gloria “Jeanne” Freeman, age 61, of Middletown, passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Wilmington, DE on March 31, 1961, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Marguerite (Pollitt) Matson. Jeanne attended Conrad High for 3 years and went on to complete her last year of High School and graduate from Wilmington High in 1979. She had a lifelong successful career as an insurance underwriter.
In September 1980, she married the love of her life, Albert. They shared many adventures over the years. Jeanne and Albert especially loved camping and the beach. Jeanne had a kind soul and attended events for everyone in her large family. Growing up in Willow Run, she forged lifelong friendships that have lasted over decades. Jeanne was the youngest of 5 children and glorified in her role as aunt and great aunt to so many. She was there for a hug, kind word, compliments, vegetables from her luscious garden or an ear to listen. Jeanne’s beach chair is covered in sand as she is basking in the heavenly sun. She was an angel on earth to so many and now she is our guardian angel.
In addition to her husband, Albert Freeman, she is survived by her sisters, Sandy Margist, Bonnie Race (Charlie) and Sharon Pierson; as well as a host of nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces. Jeanne was preceded in death by her brother, Larry Matson; and nephew, Trey Pierson.
A Celebration of Jeanne’s Life will be held privately at a later date.
In lieu of flowers and in Jeanne’s memory please pass along a kind word and warm smile to the people to pass by.
