Grace M. Hoffman

Mrs. Grace M. Hoffman, age 89, of Newark, DE, passed away on Friday, July 5, 2013, at Christiana Hospital in Newark.
Mrs. Hoffman was born in Philadelphia, PA on December 27, 1923, daughter of the late Martin Loftus and Hannah McCafferty Loftus. As a young woman, she proudly served her country in the US Army during World War II serving as a secretary at Fort Meade. A devout Catholic throughout her life, she was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton parish in Bear, DE. Mrs. Hoffman was a homemaker and dedicated her life to the needs of her family. A talented seamstress she also enjoyed knitting, needlepoint, cooking and reading. She and her husband also enjoyed entertaining family and friends at their home.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Frank A. Hoffman, Jr., who passed away in 2010, two sisters, and one brother. She is survived by children, James McGill (Judy) of Springfield, PA, Fran Hill (Joseph) of Newark, DE, Hugh Hoffman of Pitman, NJ, and Christopher Hoffman (Barbara) of Mullica Hill, NJ; grandchildren, Scott, Steve, Melissa, Patrick, Michael, and Lauren; great grandchildren, Haleigh, Ryan, Kylie, Melinda, and Owen.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 am on Thursday, July 11, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton R.C. Church, 345 Bear-Christiana Road, Bear, DE 19701, where visitation will begin at 10 am. Interment will follow in Woodbury Memorial Park, 320 Kings Highway, Clarksboro, NJ.
