Graham K. Bloxom, Sr.

Graham K. Bloxom, Sr., age 93, of Millsboro, DE, formerly of New Castle, DE, passed away on Thursday, April 1, 2021.

Born in Mappsville, VA, in 1927, he was the son of the late Cecil and Georgia (Matthews) Bloxom. Graham served in the U.S. Army during World War II. A lifetime member of Carpenters Local #626, New Castle, DE, he worked as a garage door installer for 55 years, retiring in 2005 from Clark & Sons, Inc. Graham was a lifetime member and past president of the Wilmington Manor Volunteer Fire Company. He was also a former member of the Sussex Pines Country Club, and a life member of the American Legion, Oak Orchard – Riverdale Post #28 in Millsboro. Graham enjoyed dancing, bowling, golfing, boating, fishing, and hunting. Above all, he treasured spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Graham was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn (Clark) Bloxom. He is survived by children, Patricia B. Dean (Robert) of Chestertown, MD, and Graham K. Bloxom, Jr. (Susan Clower) of Fenwick Island; cousin, Daniel Bloxom of Dover; sister-in-law, Kitty Bloxom of Melfa, VA; granddaughters, Liza Morrison, Jennifer Syva Bloxom, and Megean D. Niland; 5 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 11 am until 12 noon on Saturday, April 10, 2021, at Short Funeral Services, 609 East Market Street, Georgetown, DE. A second visitation will be held from 12 noon until 1 pm on Monday, April 12, 2021, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, followed by a funeral service at 1 pm. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE. Face masks will be required for all in attendance.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to the staff of Delaware Veterans Home for the great care and service provided within the past year.
