Irene C. Quill, age 70, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2024.
Born in Wilmington, DE on February 4, 1954, she was a daughter of the late Thomas J. and Nancy Ann (Skiles) Quill. Irene loved going to the beach; she grew up in Hollywood, FL and she always had a love for going back. She loved and cared for everyone around her and was always known as the “neighborhood mom”. Irene loved her family and more than anything else, she loved and adored her grandchildren. She truly was loved by everyone she ever met, she was a real life angel on earth.
In addition to her parents, Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Wayne Stewart; siblings, Buddy, Butchie, Michael, Bobby, and Carol; and her beloved terrier, Daisy. She is survived by her children, David W. Quill (Kristina), Michael R. Quill (Justina), and Melissa M. Stewart; grandchildren, Michael R. Quill, Skyla A. Quill, Daniel A. Becker, Conner R. Quill, Cody W. Quill; siblings, Sandy Hoke, Bonita Haslam, and Mark Quill (Bonnie); and countless nieces and nephews.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 2 pm until 3 pm on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 3 pm. A committal service will begin at 1 pm on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, in the chapel of Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.

My condolences go out to Irene’s family! I’m so sorry for your loss. Your mom was such a beautiful woman. She will be missed by everyone ! She touched so many peoples lives and was always there for someone when they needed a shoulder to lean on or when they just needed someone to talk to. She was like my second mom, and I will miss her so much. I’m so sorry for your loss.
