Irma Bendiner Stevens

Irma Bendiner Stevens passed away peacefully on June 3, 2013, at her home in Newark, DE, at the age of 102.
She was predeceased by her husband, Andor, her three sisters (Phini Bendiner Fischer, Anni Bendiner Dean, Greti Bendiner Singer), and her two brothers (Franz Bendiner, Fritz Bendiner). Irma will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was born in Graz, Austria, and worked as a fashion designer in Vienna, London, and Buenos Aires. She came to the United States in 1982 and made her home in Newark, DE. Irma was a world traveler and took overseas trips until the age of 95. She was an accomplished amateur artist and specially enjoyed painting flowers. In her early 80s she learned to play bridge and became an avid player at the Newark Senior Center.
She is survived by her daughter, Evelyn of Newark, DE, her son, John and his wife Yee-Wan of Atlanta, GA, a brother-in-law, Gustav Singer of Prague (Greti), a sister-in-law, Irene Spanier Bendiner of Buenos Aires (Franz), many nephews, nieces, grand nephews, grand nieces, great grand nephews, and a great grand niece.
Services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial gifts be made to the Newark Senior Center, 200 White Chapel Drive, Newark, DE 19713.
