Jacqualine E. “Jackie” Sturgis

April 25, 1945 - March 28, 2019

          Jacqualine E. “Jackie” Sturgis, age 73, of Hockessin, DE and formerly of Bear, DE, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2019.

          Born in Wilmington, DE on April 25, 1945, she was a daughter of the late Meredith and Helen (Hudson) Harper.  Jackie worked as a waitress for Woolworth’s in Wilmington and Ches Del in Middletown.  She had a unique collection of angels and lighthouses.  In her spare time Jackie loved vacationing at the beach, shopping and going out to eat.  Dedicated to her faith, she was a long time member of Our Lady of Fatima R.C. Church.

          In addition to her parents, Jackie was preceded in death by her sister, Joyce Taylor; and niece, Tracie Taylor.  She is survived by her children, Michelle Falla (Brian) and Brett Sturgis; and three grandchildren.

          A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Wednesday, April 3, 2019, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am.  Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE.

         Flowers are appreciated or in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Jackie’s memory to Regal Heights Healthcare and Rehabilitation (Helping Hand), 6525 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, DE 19707.
