Jane Susan Torterotot, age 58, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2022.

Born in South Amboy, NJ on October 31, 1963, she was a daughter of the late Carmen (LaBerge) and James Powell, Sr.

Jane was a great cook who loved to make delicious meals for everyone. She enjoyed watching soap operas and game shows. Jane cherished time spent with her family, especially on camping trips. She will always be remembered as a character to all who knew and loved her.

Jane is survived by her daughters, Theresa Rice, Christina Torterotot, Amber Torterotot, and Kimberly Torterotot; brothers, James Powell (Cynthia) and Charles Powell (Theresa); sister, Marie Bergin (Marty); and grandchildren, Ni’zaya, Bianca, Jaelynn, Alexus, Anthony, Kevin, Jr., Peyton, and Amara.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 pm until 7 pm on Friday, March 4, 2022, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a time of sharing will be offered at 7 pm. Interment will be held privately.

  • I am so sorry to hear of your mother …. I have so many memories of her that make me smile and laugh, especially her sassiness and outspoken opinion. She was always very good to me and welcomed me and Mike and all our kids at any time for a meal or just hanging out. Always will remember the good times at the Races, Camping, family fourth of July parties she always treated me good I will miss Her my thoughts go out to the Family during this difficult time may she R.I.P.
