Jeanne Marie (Parent) Schafferman

Mrs. Jeanne Marie (Parent) Schafferman, age 54, of Middletown, DE, passed away on Thursday, August 23, 2012.
A native Delawarean, Jeanne was born in Wilmington on December 14, 1957. She graduated from William Penn High School and completed 36 years of service to Sean O’Hanlon as an office administrator. She loved the beach, her family and dogs, and rocking out to Rod Stewart. She was known for her big blue eyes, big bright smile and a contagious laugh. Her spirit captivated everyone she met.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her father, William R. Parent. She is survived by her beloved husband of 28 years, Joseph B. Schafferman, Jr.; daughters, Megan E. Schafferman and Brittany M. Schafferman, both of Middletown; mother, Marianne (Beckett) Parent of New Castle; brothers, William R. Parent, Jr. and wife Kathy of Hamburg, PA, and Frank D. Parent and wife Sue of Coatesville, PA; sisters, Michelle L. Parent of Charles Town, WV, Suzanne L. Parent of Newport, Mary Holleran and husband Tim of Middletown, and Cecilia A. Esposito and husband Kenny of New Castle; brothers-in-law, Raymond Schafferman and Danny Schafferman and wife Chris of Wilmington; sisters-in-law, Lisa Wilkerson and husband Jimmy of Wilmington, Mitzi Holdridge and husband Dan of Rehoboth, and Sharon Crum and husband Matt of Elsmere; and a host of nieces and nephews. Jeanne is also survived by her pet yellow Lab, Jake, and was predeceased by yellow Lab, Buddy.
A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, August 28, 2012, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, where visitation will begin at 10 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Jeanne may be made to the Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
