Jennifer Sara “Jenny Ben” Sampson

June 11, 1952 - December 11, 2023

Jennifer Sara Sampson “Jenny Ben”, age 71, of Kenton, DE transitioned peacefully, in her home and surrounded by loved ones, on December 11, 2023.

Born in Wilmington, Delaware on June 11,1952 she was a daughter of the late Herbert & Doris (Smith) Ackinson. Family meant everything to Jennifer and she was a natural dedicated caretaker. Over her lifetime, Jennifer took care of three generations of children in her family. She loved babies and had a special bond with her 10-month-old great-grand-nephew, Jayden.

Jennifer was an amazing cook and has passed down many great family recipes to the younger generations. She loved going on trips to the casino and Wildwood, NJ with beloved family. She enjoyed watching Golden Girls, Elvis, game shows, and her soaps. Jennifer attended online worship services on Sundays from Trinity Episcopalian Church in Wilmington, DE.

In addition to her parents, Jennifer was preceded in death by her siblings, Austin “Bucky” Buchanan, Barbara “Barbie” Mooney, Nancy Zellers, Diane Reedy, and Harold Engle. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Harry Davis; her children, Serena “My Joey” Sampson and Jeffrey Sampson; siblings, James “Jimmy” Ackinson, Mary “Pixie” Foust (Harry), and Jeanette Neff (Mark); grandchildren, Justin Sampson & Jaxson Sampson; brother in-law, George Davis, who she took care of many years; many special nieces &nephews, grand-nieces & nephews, and great-grand neices & nephews.

The family would like to give special thanks to Jennifer’s niece, Tonda Heath, who took very good care of her every step of the way; Kristine Zellers, Lexie Zellers, and Kayla Heath for being there when needed the most, as well as various nurses & aides from Bayada & VITAS. Jennifer and her sweet & kind ways will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

A visitation for family & friends will be held from 12:30 pm until 1 pm on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, Delaware where a celebration of life will begin at 1 pm.
