Joan Ann Murtha, age 68, of Claymont, DE, passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2013.
A native Delawarean, Joan was born in Wilmington on April 24, 1945, daughter of the late Walter E. Dych and Evelyn M. Garrett. She was employed as a school bus driver with the Brandywine School District until her retirement.
She is survived by her son, Staff Sgt. Jeffery A. Murtha (USA, Ret.) of Wilmington; daughter, Susan L. Murtha of Claymont; brother, Walter Dych and wife Mary of New Castle; sisters, Betty Dolan of Arizona and Nancy Crick and husband Ron of Hockessin; and grandchildren, Alana Murtha and Garrett Bandrowsky.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Monday, August 26th, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, where visitation will begin at 10 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle.
