Joanne (Kelly) Basquill

October 5, 1933 - May 19, 2020

Joanne (Kelly) Basquill, age 86, of Middletown, DE, and formerly of Delaware County, PA, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2020.

Born in Philadelphia, PA on October 5, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Joseph J. and Madelyn (Hamilton) Kelly. Joanne was a graduate of West Catholic High School. For many years, she was a talented homemaker to five children. Throughout her life she had several careers including, Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital and then at Penntube Plastics, which allowed her to travel as a national sales manager. In her spare time, Joanne enjoyed going antiquing, playing the cello and going to lunch with friends. She also liked steam engines and locomotives. Above all, Joanne loved spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Joanne was preceded in death by her loving husband, Thomas H. Basquill, Sr.; daughter, Kathleen Basquill; and sister, Alice Applegate. She is survived by her children, Thomas “Chip” Basquill (Susan), Robert Basquill (Denise), Daniel “Huck” Basquill (Debbie) and Suzi Little (Jim, Sr.); siblings, Lawrence Kelly, Anita Lenart, Nancy Kitts and Madelyn Kelly; grandchildren, Jennifer Raube, Francis Ellis, Michael Ellis, Patty Marshall, Stacey Little, James Little, Jr., Chrissy Little, Thomas P. Basquill, Nicole Harris, Robert Basquill, Deanna Walls, Kimberly Golder and Kristen Basquill;  and 20 great grandchildren.

A public service will be held at a later date.

I will always remember how she made me feel special with her hugs and her generosity. And I know how much she loved being around all of her friends and colleagues, but especially spending time with her family.
