John Christopher “Chris” Smith

John Christopher “Chris” Smith, age 48, of Townsend, DE, passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2021.

Born in Wilmington, DE, on January 10, 1973, he was the son of John Calvin Smith and the late Mary H. (Kuhar) Smith. Chris worked as a customer service representative for AAA- Newark.

Chris’s greatest joy in life is his daughter Marissa. Chris was an avid movie buff, especially the Star Wars Saga. He enjoyed playing pool and poker, particularly Texas Hold’em. Chris was a huge Phillies and Eagles Fan. He could always be found listening to music, especially Motown and Elvis.

Chris is survived by his daughter, Marissa D. Smith of Newark; father, John Calvin Smith of Townsend; sisters, Tammy Beal (Jeff) of Middletown and Dee Bowers (Bobby) of Townsend; step-daughter, Elizabeth Graham of Newark; and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 11 am until 12 noon on Friday, July 30, 2021, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 275 E. Main Street, Middletown, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 12 noon. Face coverings will be required for all those in attendance not immunized with the COVID-19 vaccine per the CDC and Governor of Delaware. Interment will be held privately.
