November 4, 1940 - February 15, 2021

June May Berry, age 80, of Chesapeake City, MD, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on Monday, February 15, 2021, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Elkton, MD on November 4, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Clinton Franklin and Elsie M. (Metcalf) Burns. June attended William Penn High School before spending many years of her life creating a warm and loving home with the love of her life, her husband, Giles. She enjoyed playing the organ at the Delaware State Hospital, assembling jigsaw puzzles and taking part in yard sales. June also delighted in listening to music and dancing. She will always be remembered for her outgoing spirit and kind heart.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 40 years, Giles Berry; children, James Walker III (Gina) and Janine Davidson; grandchildren, James Walker IV, Logan Walker, Amy Marriott, Jeremy Davidson, Christine Boone, Charles Davidson, Jr. and Bridgette Davidson; and 17 great grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 11 am until 12 noon on Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, followed by a funeral service at 12 noon. Face masks will be required for all in attendance. Interment will be held privately in Gracelawn Memorial Park, New Castle, DE.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in June’s memory to Maryland Food Bank, P.O. Box 17379, Baltimore, MD 21297 or the Alzheimer’s Association, 399 Market Street, Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA.
