Kaye (Oberle) Gebert

December 4, 1950 - May 2, 2023

Kaye (Oberle) Gebert, age 72, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, May 2, 2023.

Born in Wilmington, DE on December 4, 1950, she was a daughter of the late William A. and Janet Christine (Arnett) Oberle, Sr. Kaye worked as a legal secretary at DuPont Co. for over 30 years.

Kaye enjoyed spending her free time tending to her garden or going to the beach, her favorite place since childhood. She had a passion for animals, especially cats and dogs. Kaye loved to cheer on the Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies, Flyers, and her favorite NASCAR driver, Jeff Gordon. She loved to cook and was an excellent one; she prided herself on making her Mom’s delicious potato salad. Above all, Kaye enjoyed doting on her nieces, nephews, and their children as often as she could.

Kaye is survived by her loving husband, Paul William Gebert; stepchildren, Paul Gebert, Jr. (Marge) and Amy Johnson (Matt); siblings, William Oberle, Jr. (Sally) and Lois Oberle Bonarigo (John); twin sister, Faye Oberle Fields (Newell); step-grandson, Carl Johnson; nieces and nephews, Carl, Madeline, Eloise, Sara, April, Jennifer, Keri, Bill, Leanne, and Phillip; and several grand nieces and nephews.

All services will be private and held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kaye’s memory to the House of Hope Animal Rescue, PO Box 430, North East, MD 21901 or online by clicking here.
