Mr. Laurence B. “Larry” Miller, age 54, of Newark, DE, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2012.
Born in Tulsa, OK, on October 29, 1957, Larry was fascinated by computers from childhood. An expert in a variety of challenging operating systems, as well as computer hardware, he made his career as a systems analyst, working for Dupont, Dade Behring, and most recently, Siemens.
In his leisure hours, Larry greatly enjoyed cooking wonderful meals for his family, listening to music (particularly his favorite classic rock and folk albums), and visiting interesting historical and cultural attractions on the East Coast. He was also a talented photographer and delighted in documenting family celebrations and gatherings.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Nancy Bland Miller; mother, Roberta Bull Miller of St. Louis, MO; three sons, Laurence B. Miller, Jr. and wife, Jennifer, of Elkton, MD, David E. Miller and John W. Miller, both of Newark, DE; and sister, Rebecca A. Miller of St. Louis, MO. He was preceded in death by his father, Gilbert T. Miller.
A memorial service will be held at 1 pm on Friday, January 13, 2012, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE.
