Mr. LeRoy C. Davis, Sr., age 67, of Middletown, DE, passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2011.
Mr. Davis was born in Lewistown, PA, on April 11, 1944, son of the late Joseph B. Davis, Sr. and Mary E. Casner Davis. A commercial painter by profession, he owned and operated his own successful contracting firm for many years.
Mr. Davis was a gifted and knowledgeable outdoorsman from his youth and greatly enjoyed hunting and fishing. An avid football fan as well, he looked forward to cheering each year for his favorite teams, Penn State and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He also enjoyed listening to the music of Elvis Presley throughout his life.
A devoted family man above all else, Mr. Davis valued and treasured his wife, sons, grandchildren, and extended family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Mary Ann Dick Davis; sons, LeRoy C. Brothers and Joseph B. Brothers (Lori) of Hurricane, WV, and Shawn T. Dougherty (Marion) of Dover, DE; sisters, Norma Ewing (Jim) of Lewistown, PA, and Nancy Wilt of Wilmington, DE; 10 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Joseph B. Davis, Jr., Stephen S. Davis, and Bette Farleman.
A funeral service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, September 24, 2011, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where visitation will begin at 9 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE.
