Ms. Linda Jo Stinson, age 58, of Middletown, DE, passed away on Monday, July 8, 2013.
Ms. Stinson was born in Philadelphia, PA, on November 21, 1954. A gifted hairstylist, she had many loyal clients at the J.C. Penney Salon at the Christiana Mall, where she worked for 20 years until her retirement in 2011. She also styled hair for private clients at Foulk Manor North for many years.
Active in her community, Ms. Stinson was a member of the Moose Lodge in Smyrna and the American Legion Post on Rt. 26. She was devoted to her beloved family and also enjoyed spending time with her many close friends.
She is survived by her children, Lindsay Renee Stinson of Middletown, John Adam Stinson (Melanie) of Odessa, and Brett Matthew Stinson of Bear; mother, Helen L. Radick Malin of Wilmington; sisters, Nancy L. Malin of Wilmington, Leona R. Wilson (Bill) of Smyrna, Diane M. Chaker (Jeff) of Elkton, MD, and Janie Jeandell (Tom) of Wilmington; grandchildren, Alissa Leona Stinson, Jacob Kuhnle, and Karlie Jo Stinson; cousins, Debbie Stafford and Donna Sentman; best friend, Joanne Freize; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, James Malin, and sister, Suzanne Edmisten.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, where visitation will begin at 9:30 am. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington.
