Madeline Marie “Mickie” Killian
Madeline Marie Killian, age 63, of Middletown, DE, formerly of Willingboro, NJ, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2013, surrounded by her loving family.
Mickie was born on September 5, 1949 in the Port Richmond section of Philadelphia, PA, where she attended Little Flower High School. For over 30 years, she made her career as a professional school bus driver, most recently working for Stapleford’s for 12 years. She was a talented homemaker, as well, and greatly enjoyed hosting frequent parties and happy gatherings in her home.
A devoted, loving, and strong-willed wife, mother, and mom-mom, Mickie dedicated her life to caring for her family. She delighted especially in the company of her precious grandchildren, whom she adored. She is survived by her beloved husband of 46 years, Harry F. Killian; children, Harry E. Killian, Gregory B. Killian and wife Leslie, Heather J. Uhlmann and husband Nathan, and Laurie A. Killian; grandchildren, Brandon Killian, Charlotte Uhlmann, and Evan Uhlmann; aunt and godmother, Madelene Finor; her father-in-law, Harry E. Killian; and her pet English Springer Spaniel, Rip. She was preceded in death by her devoted mother-in-law, Clara Killian.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 am on Wednesday, August 21, 2013, at St. Paul’s R.C. Church, 209 Washington Street, Delaware City, DE.
The family asks that everyone give their children and grandchildren an extra hug each day to honor Mickie’s memory. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
