Marguerite (Nixon) Pragg, age 84, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 9, 2018.

Born in Chester, PA, and raised in Newport, DE, on December 6, 1933, she was a daughter of the late George H. and Margaret (Porter) Nixon. Marguerite dedicated her life to her family as a talented homemaker. She was an avid reader, enjoyed trips to Lancaster and spending time at the beach. Of all her passions, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren the most.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, David Rogers; sister, Joyce Remedio; and granddaughter, Amy Spicer. Marguerite is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, William C. Pragg; children, Nancy Sammons (Glendon), Alfred Rogers (Linda), William M. Pragg, Carl J. Pragg (Cheryl), Robert W. Pragg (Sheila) and Marie A. Collins; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.

A gathering for family and friends will be held from 1 PM until 2 PM on Tuesday afternoon, October 16, 2018, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE 19711, where a memorial service will be held at 2 PM. Interment will be held privately in Sharon Hills Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Children’s Cancer Foundation, 5570 Sterrett Pl #204, Columbia, MD 21044.

    Sorry, I won’t be able to attend the service. I’m leaving for Naples, Florida Tuesday morning. I have to get out of here. My son death is the 14 th and I can’t handle being here. I have to get away. It is 6 years since I lost him.
