Maria Tsatsaronis

February 18, 1947 - May 19, 2019

Maria Tsatsaronis age 72, of Bear, DE, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home on Sunday, May 19, 2019, after a courageous battle with Lung and Brain Cancer.

Maria was born in Athens, Greece on February 18, 1947, where she lived until she immigrated to the United States with her husband Peter in 1971.

In her leisure time, Maria enjoyed being outdoors, working in her garden, creating needlework pieces, traveling to Greece to see family and friends, and loved nothing more than to have her toes in the sand in Clearwater, FL.

Maria warmed the hearts of those around her. She lived her life selflessly always making sure everyone around her was happy, laughing, and of course, well fed. She was the life of the party, a shoulder to lean on, and a wonderful Wife, Mother, Yiayia, and friend.

Maria is survived by her husband, Peter Tsatsaronis of 56 years; her two sons, George Tsatsaronis (Michelle) of Houston, TX and Nicolas (Christina) Tsatsaronis of Newark, DE; and her five grandchildren, Maria, Peter, Christina, Anastasia, and Eliana; her sister, Sophia Livizos; and other family and friends.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 until 11 am at on Friday, May 24, 2019, at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 808 North Broom Street, Wilmington, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am.  Burial will immediately follow at Silverbrook Cemetery, 3300 Lancaster Pike, Wilmington, DE .

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to The Helen Graham Cancer Center, PO Box 1668, Wilmington, DE 19899.

The life lessons she taught me went above and beyond and I am so forever grateful for having her apart of my life for the past 23 years ! The way she danced, smiled, cooked, spoke, nurtured and many other things was something I have never seen by anyone before!
