Mark Alan Walton, Sr.
February 3, 1960 - April 29, 2023
Mark Alan Walton, Sr., age 63, of Bear, DE, passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in West Chester, Pennsylvania on February 3, 1960, he was a son of Betty Louise Walton and the late Benjamin Lewis Walton, Sr. Mark worked at M. Davis and Son as a sheet metal mechanic for 36 years.
Mark loved spending time with his family and friends, but he especially loved spending time at his children’s houses with his grandchildren and great- grandchildren. His pride and joy was his house in the mountains in James City, PA. In his earlier years, you could find him fishing, hunting, and golfing. He adored his dogs, Zoe, Matter, Baby Girl and the late Staysha and Sammy. Mark enjoyed watching NASCAR and drinking Budweiser beer. Mark was also a member of the Moose Lodge 1578 in New Castle.
In addition to his father, Mark was preceded in death by his brother, John Walton. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Susan “Sue” (Wooleyhan) Walton; mother, Betty Louise Walton; children, Tina Vass (Mark), Mark Walton, Jr. (Codee); grandchildren, Taylor Vass, Marcus Vass, Arianna (Onni) Vass, Makenna Walton; great-grandchildren, Faith Vass-Williams, Bella Vass-Williams, Ivy Vass-Williams; brothers, Benjamin Walton, Jr., Walt Walton, Matt Walton; sister, April Walton; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 2 pm until 3 pm on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 3 pm. Interment will be held privately.
