Martha K. Eskridge

July 1, 1935 - December 21, 2020

Martha K. Eskridge, age 85, a lifelong resident of Delaware, passed away on Monday, December 21, 2020, with her family by her side.

Born on July 1, 1935, in Newark, DE, she was the daughter of the late Willis Wilhelm and Ruth Elizabeth (Diffenderfer) Kennedy. Martha was a meticulous, hardworking homemaker who lovingly raised her seven children. She enjoyed gardening, reading about a variety of subjects, and listening to music; she passed these passions onto her family in various ways. A very selfless and compassionate individual, Martha always put others first, and she never forgot to say a kind word or make a thoughtful gesture to anyone whom she encountered. She relished time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, who were always delighted to be in her presence. The well-being of Martha’s family was her top priority until the very end.

In addition to her parents, Martha is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Merrill H. Eskridge; children, Rosetta Yannes, Anthony Fioravaniti, and Richard Fioravaniti; son-in-law, Frank Yannes; and brothers, John, David and Oliver Kennedy. She is survived by her children, Bernardo F. Fioravaniti III (Denise), Joey Fioravanti, Teresa M. Jannuzzio (John), and Duane Fioravanti; 5 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

All services will be held privately.

  • Martha was a kind friend. She was thoughtful, super-intelligent and out-paced everyone I know in knowing snd sharing information. Yep— I had to run to keep up with her. Martha was super kind and thoughtful as a neighbor. I will miss Martha and all she added to my life. Martha is in God’s loving arms!
