Mary Ann (neé Chuhinka, Principe) Curren

          Mary Ann (neé Chuhinka, Principe) Curren, age 78, of Newark, DE, formerly of Philadelphia, PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 13, 2019.

          Born in Mahanoy, PA on May 9, 1941, she was a daughter of the late John and Ann (Novak) Chuhinka.  After business school, Mary Ann worked as an executive secretary for the Chamber of Commerce in Philadelphia.  She then devoted her life as a stay at home mom, at one point taking care of 5 children under the age of 4.  She worked for many years as an executive assistant and most recently she worked as a veterinary assistant.  She generously gave homes to many dogs that needed extra attention and love.

          Mary Ann was skilled at making beautifully decorated cakes for her children’s birthdays.  She enjoyed painting ceramics and many of her pieces are treasured to this day.  Mary Ann had a unique zest for life and a bubbly personality.  She was loving and selfless.  Mary Ann was an excellent cook and she enjoyed gardening.  Her fondest memories were made spending time with her family and her beloved dogs.

          In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jack.  Mary Ann is survived by her children, Dana (Dominic), Dante, Jr. (Lisa), Joseph (Deanna), Todd (Tracie) and Scott; sisters, Rosalie Lux (Russell) and Susan Gallo; grandchildren, Jessica, Dante III, Joseph, Jr., Samantha, Emily, Alexandra, Breanna, Andrew and Karalyn; one niece; several nephews; and former husbands, Dante Principe, Sr. and Joseph Curren.

          All services will be held privately.

          In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mary Ann’s memory to Faithful Friends, 12 Germay Drive, Wilmington, DE 19804.
