Mary Ranger, age 79, of Cecilton, MD, passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2024.

Born in Philadelphia, PA on January 26, 1945, she was a daughter of the late Edward Joseph and Mary (Abbott) Lind.

Mary had a multitude of things she was gifted at. She was an incredible seamstress, made beautiful ceramics and was a computer pioneer. Mary was also an avid animal lover, especially when it came to dogs. She loved the sunshine and enjoyed spending her free time on the beach. Most importantly, Mary treasured her family and creating memories that will last a lifetime.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her children, Michael Jacobs and Jamie Martin, and granddaughter, Mary Michele Harrison. She is survived by her children, Mary Ann Graham (Larry), Dave Jacobs and Bonnie Jacobs; grandchildren, Daniel III, Tyler, Kirby and Jukobi; great-grandchildren, Daniel IV, Chloe, Cayden and Jukobi Jr.; also many extended family members.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:30 am until 10:30 am on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 275 East Main Street, Middletown, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 10:30 am. Interment will follow in St. Georges Cemetery, Kirkwood-St. Georges Road, St. Georges, DE.

  • I am sorry I can attend Mary’s service but it is with a heavy heart that I send my condolences to her family. I was truly blessed to call Mary my friend as she was such a sweet person with a beautiful soul. I pray she finds peace as she joins Michael and Jamie.

  • Mary Ann, Bonnie and my dear brother in law Dave, I am so sorry for the loss of your mother. I am glad she had the opportunity to spend time with her children in this last year of her life. I know it must have been difficult for her to leave her Florida home and lifestyle but rest assured you did what you could to be the most loving and caring adult children. You should have no regrets.   • Iā€™m so sorry to hear this. I had no idea she passed away. She used to love my dad years ago and her and I connected after he passed and I found pictures of her and Mary and Jaime. I am at a loss for words. I will pray for your family. Such a sweet woman.

  • Mary and Jamie became my 1st Dear Friend’s when I moved to FL at the age of 45, after the death of my Husband. Thank God, they were just so Much My Dear Friend’s from day one!
