Michael “Mickey” P. King
November 2, 1969 - July 6, 2024
Michael “Mickey” P. King, age 54, of Georgetown, DE, passed away suddenly on Saturday, July 6, 2024.
Michael “Mickey” was born in Wilmington, DE on November 2, 1969. He played baseball in his younger years and was a graduate of James Grove High School.
Through the years, Mickey enjoyed working as an electrician; providing for his family while raising his young daughter and six grandchildren. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and his knowledge to others. There was no job too big or too small for him to take on.
When Mickey was not providing for his family, he enjoyed spending time with them and his fur baby making memories. He was a free spirit, making friends wherever he went. His outgoing, fun-loving personality always made you feel welcomed.
Mickey loved sports and was an avid Eagles fan, but nothing was stronger than the love he had for his family. The smile upon his face beamed with such pride for his daughters and grandchildren. They were truly the loves of his life.
He is survived by his daughters, Samantha and Miranda King; mother, Linda King; brother, Joseph King; lifetime companion, Michelle Hitchens; grandchildren, Briana, Bernardo, Destiny, Dekelvin, Aniyah and Kenley; and nephew, Michael King. He was a loving daddy to his fur baby, Lucky.
Mickey will be dearly missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Mickey is preceded in death by his father, Michael C. King; daughter, Ashley King; granddaughter, Mariah King; grandfather, Claude Davis; grandmother, Grace Davis who joined him in Heaven the next day; and his uncles, Evan Davis and Edward Chinski, Jr.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE.

So very hard to believe😢 Thank you for always being there for me no matter when I needed you or what I needed. To say you’ll be missed is an understatement. I’ll miss you always Mickey!! Rest in Peace.

I miss you and love you so much bro. I am going to do everything I can do to help raise your grandchildren and daughter the way that you have laid out. Also keep your memories alive in the house that you raised them in. Until we meet again mick. Just so you know bro all those bad habits of mine that you would yell at me everyday. I have already started to leave them behind me in the past. My future is going to be just like you would tell me that you dreamed about. I love you always and forever.

Mikey was always a good friend when we were kids and lived in the same neighborhood. Through the years as my family moved from place to place we lost connection but thankful to Facebook. We reconnected several years ago. So I am grateful for that, I actually drove down there and took Mick out to lunch to rekindle our younger years. We had a great afternoon and promised to stay in touch which we did often, this will be a sad morning today laying a good friend down to rest.😞 my heart goes out to his entire family. There’s no words that can be said when this day arrives.

Three more days on August 6th will be One Month not having you here on Earth, I keep coming to your tribute wall and could not finish my tribute to you. You were and always will be The Love of My Life . You gave me three beautiful daughters, your love for our grandchildren were like your own . We will huddle together and keep everything your knowledge, wisdom and strength to push through and your feeling of being blessed to be here another day to help us navigate this world without you Our Protector and Provider. I talk to Lucky every time I talk him for his walk about you, now his love will have to help my troubled heart not having you. When you left this Earth for Eternally I hope your with your Father, Your Daughter Ashley and Mariah the rest of family and friends rejoicing, I also hope Heaven is no pain , no problems, just pure forever happiness.
