Orla “Paul” Bowhall, Jr.

December 25, 1946 - May 8, 2022

Orla “Paul” Bowhall, Jr., age 75, of Middletown, DE, left this life on Sunday, May 8, 2022. Loving Husband, Dad, Pop-Pop, and friend to anyone who would talk to him. He is going to be missed most by his two “number one” daughters, Allison and Gretchen. His loving wife, Sherry and her children, Angela and Justin. His Grandchildren, Zachary, Logan, Sara, Ashton, Kaylee, Bradley, Charlotte, Roman, Justin II and Vivian, will never forget the love he had for them.  He will also be greatly missed by his large extended family.

Born in Chester, PA, on December 25, 1946, he was a son of the late Orla Paul and Mary Josephine (Esrey) Bowhall, Sr. Paul grew up with his sister, the late Mary Jo (Bowhall) Quinn on a farm in PA, where they milked goats and ate frozen PB&J sandwiches. He was a 1965 graduate of Claymont High School. Paul was a millwright by trade for over 30 years, ending his career at Chrysler in 2008. He proudly served his country in the United States Marines.

Paul loved anything that could be done outside. An avid longshore fisherman, commercial crabber and even just cutting the grass. He was very active with AA, supporting other recovering alcoholics. He loved to play bingo and loved animals. Above all, Paul was happiest being with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry Bowhall; daughters, Allison Bowhall Evans (Erik) and Gretchen Bowhall Dellaquila (Nick); step-children, Angela Gorman (Ryan) and Justin Hensley (Erin); and all of his loving grandchildren, countless cousins, nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:30 am until 11 am on Friday, May 13, 2022, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 275 East Main Street, Middletown, DE 19709, where a celebration of life will begin at 11 am. Interment will be held privately.
