Pamela J. “Pam” Matthews, age 47, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Friday, July 26, 2019.

Born in Wilmington, DE, on August 12, 1971, she was a daughter of the late Robert E. and Lynn E. (West) Matthews. Pam worked as a Business Operations Analyst for Chase for many years. She loved spending quality time with friends and family. Pam enjoyed shopping, picking fruit at Linvilla Orchards, and caring for her beloved pets. Pam also loved cooking and baking, often making tasty treats for her family. She loved to laugh, and traveling to South Carolina for vacation.

Pam is survived by her sister, Robyn L. Matthews, of Bear DE; brother, Daniel A. Matthews, of Bear DE; life partner, Jay Rowlin; Jay’s parents, James and Lorraine McElwee, of Middletown DE; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and a nephew.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10am until 11am on Friday, August 2, 2019, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11am. Interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Pam’s memory to the Delaware Humane Association, 701 A Street, Wilmington, DE 19801.

  • My deepest sympathy to all. Pam was taken from us far to soon. Her smiling face, quick whit and bubbly personality will be missed by all. Pam was one in a million and God called her home early.   • Pam was the light of my life my angel my best love and friend all in one. My family fell in love with her the first she met them they treated her like one of family right off the bat. She was the daughter in law they always hoped to have and they did till god called her to heaven way too soon. Our plans were to be those old couples that holds hands out in public. I couldn’t ask for a better significant other. I’ll miss you honey soo very much till we meet in heaven and be together again holding hands again.

  • She leaves behind 5 wonderful pets 2 cats, Buddy and Maggie and 3 wonderful dogs Jackson,Mason,Hailey. They will miss her and loved licking her face before going to bed. It was the boys every night thing. We all will be together soon some day and be a whole family again.
