Ms. Patricia Marie “Trisha” Skelly-Miller, age 44, of Newark, DE, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, April 3, 2013.
A native Delawarean, Trisha was born in Wilmington on March 14, 1969, and was a 1987 graduate of New Castle Baptist Academy. She was a gifted athlete from her youth, starring on her high school basketball team as a two-year All-Star and playing field hockey. She was also a member of the cheerleading squad. In more recent years, she greatly enjoyed fishing and was an avid reader. Trisha was very proud of her rich Irish heritage throughout her life.
She is survived by her son, Brandon Miller (Lauren) of Newark, daughter, Brittany Miller of New Castle; mother, Lucy E. Dunn of Bear; father and stepmother, Dean L. Skelly, Jr. and Lynn Skelly of Bear; siblings, Tim Skelly (Shauna) of Bear, Troy Skelly (Chrissy) of Bear, Tonya Aro (Kevin) of Bear, Tabatha Beam (Thomas) of Middletown, and Tara Skelly of Wilmington; uncle, Dennis Bolden and several cousins; and fiancé, Robert Cleveland of Lincoln. She is also survived by a host of beloved nieces and nephews (by whom she was fondly known as “Auntie Trish”), including her special nephew, Sean Skelly.
Visitation will be held from 2 pm to 4 pm on Sunday, April 7, 2013, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE 19720. Services and interment will be held privately.
