Patricia Paty “Pat” Steele

Patricia Paty “Pat” Steele, age 85, of Newark, DE, passed away on Monday, May 8, 2023.

Born in Chattanooga, TN on August 7, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Jane (Gaines) Steele. Pat worked for 30 years as a customer service representative at Discover Card and Sears.

Pat was passionate about her faith and was an active member of her church. She was very social, having many friends from her church and at work. In her spare time, Pat could often be found reading, playing bridge, or cooking. She loved collecting cards and antiques, which she had extensive knowledge of. Pat will always be remembered as a generous person who touched many lives.

In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Gaines Steele; children, Susan Steele Storrer, Amy Adair Steele, and Bryan Christopher Steele. She is survived by her grandchildren, Doug Michael Ray, Catherine Ball, and Jennifer McDonie; and 6 great-grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 2 pm until 4 pm on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
