Paul H. Taylor, Sr., age 89, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Monday, October 4, 2021.

Born in Wilmington, DE on August 6, 1932, he was a son of the late Charles G. and Evelyn (Hitchens) Taylor. Dedicated to his community, Paul was a 66-year active life member of the Minquadale Fire Company, holding numerous offices including Chief Emeritus. He worked as a contractor for many years with Edjil Drywall and owned P & J Construction. In his spare time, Paul enjoyed golfing and looked forward to his annual outing to Myrtle Beach with his sons and dear friends.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth E. Taylor; son, Kevin M. Taylor; and siblings, Ken Taylor, Melvin Taylor, Charles Ray Taylor, Donald Taylor, and Ruth E. Hill. He is survived by his sons, Paul H. Taylor, Jr. (Jeri) of Lewes, Charles T. Taylor (Susan) of New Castle, and Robert A. Taylor of New Castle; brother, Joseph Hoopes (Patti) of New Castle; and 7 grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 8:30 am until 10:30 am, on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will be held at 10:30 am. Face coverings will be required for all those in attendance not immunized with the COVID-19 vaccine per the Governor of Delaware. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Paul’s memory to Minquadale Fire Company, P.O. Box 647, Manor Branch, New Castle, DE 19720.
