Rachel M. Spinden

Mrs. Rachel M. Spinden, age 98, of Orlando, FL, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2013, at Health Center of Windermere.
Rachel was born on March 18, 1914, in Graham, NC. She moved to Delaware in 1951 and then to Florida in 2007. A talented seamstress and devoted homemaker throughout her life, she was always compassionate, kind, and loving to her family and her many friends. In Florida, Rachel was a member of Does Drove 66. She loved dancing at Elks Lodge 1079, where her dance card was always full!
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Spinden, son-in-law, Bill Davies, stepson, Donald Spinden, and step grandson, Donald Spinden, Jr. She is survived by her daughter and caregiver, Pat Davies; stepson, Bob Spinden (Helen); grandchildren, Sheryl Filippone, Wayne Davies (Julie), Melinda Troutman (Todd), Rob Spinden, Trisha Spinden, Kim Pattone (Pete), and Debbie Spinden; 14 great grandchildren; and a great great grandchild.
The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to Health Center of Windermere and Vitas Hospice Care.
A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, January 27, 2013, at Elks Lodge 1079, 12 N. Primrose Drive, Orlando, FL 32803. Interment will be held in Delaware at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Orlando Does Drove 66, 12 N. Primrose Drive, Orlando, FL 32803.

DELAWARE SERVICE INFORMATION:

A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, April 20, 2013, at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle.
