Rafael Tirado, age 74, of Middletown, DE, and formerly of Bushkill, PA, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, September 5, 2023.

Born in Brooklyn, NY on September 30, 1948, he was a son of the late Rafael Tirado and Marcelina Tirado-Serrano. Rafael worked as a track repairman for the New York Transit Authority for many years. A true outdoorsman, he loved to go deer and bear hunting. Above all, Rafael cherished his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Rafael was preceded in death by his son, David Tirado; 3 brothers; and 1 sister. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Barbara A. (Blair) Tirado; son, Richard Tirado (Stephanie); grandchildren, Richie Tirado, Ava Rose Tirado, and David Tirado; great-grandson, Joseph Tirado; 3 brothers; 1 sister; and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 2 pm until 4 pm on Friday, September 8, 2023, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 275 East Main Street, Middletown, DE. A second visitation will be held from 5 pm until 7 pm, following the first visitation, at the funeral home, where a memorial service will begin at 7 pm. Interment will be held privately.
