Ralph Herbert Crossan, Jr., age 59, of Newark, DE, passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2021.
Born in Wilmington, DE, on June 26, 1961, he was a son of Fredricka H. (Robinson) Crossan and the late Ralph H. Crossan, Sr. Ralph attended Newark High School where he was a member of the Future Farmers of America. He graduated from Hodgson Vo-Tech School in 1980. Ralph worked as a loader operator for Kaolin Mushroom Farms, a mechanic for S&G Lewis & Sons, and a heavy equipment operator for Crossroads Enterprises. He made his career as a truck driver for Newark Concrete and Bear Concrete. Ralph was a member of Harmony Grange #12, the Waterloo Boys Tractor Club, the Rough & Tumble Steam Engine Club, and the Great Council of the U.S. Improved Order of Redmen Delaware Club. He was also a member and served as a trustee for Ebenezer United Methodist Church.
Ralph was a farm boy at heart; he took pleasure in gardening, collecting toy tractors, attending tractor shows, going to buck truck pulls, and attending county fairs. He also enjoyed cooking and spending time with family, especially his nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to his mother, Ralph is survived by his siblings, Cecil Crossan (Denise) and Malissa McMullen (Thomas), both of Newark, Kimberly Wolfe (Timothy) of Oxford, PA, and Fredrick Crossan of Elkton, MD; nieces, Michelle Williams (Jason), Brianna McMullen, Heather Wolfe, Carenna Richardson and Logan Wolfe; nephews, Sean Crossan, Robert McMullen, Dalton Wolfe, and Colton Crossan; great nephews, Julian Williams and Jacob Williams; and great niece, Jaelyn Fayette.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the Dempsey Families: Brian, Cindy and Brianna Dempsey and Rodney Dempsey for providing such amazing support as neighbors and friends. They each held a very special place in Ralph’s heart.
A memorial service for family and friends will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, June 3, 2021, at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 525 Polly Drummond Hill Road, Newark, DE. Interment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ralph’s memory to Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 525 Polly Drummond Hill Road, Newark, DE 19711.

my heart goes out to the entire family. however, a special thought goes to ralph’s mother, frieda. i can imagine her pain, for there is nothing worse than losing a child no matter the age. it seems unreal that parent should outlive their child.
