Mr. Richard D. Stewart, age 93, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 1, 2013.

Richard’s love of photography would lead him to a career with the University of Delaware, where he served as the Director of Photographic Services until his retirement in 1982.
An avid golfer, Richard excelled at the game. It was a passion he and his late wife, Barbara shared. The two spent many happy times together hitting the links at the Newark County Club, Three Little Bakers, and DelCastle courses and made many happy memories on numerous golfing trips with their good friends.
Richard was a devoted Phillies fan of many years, and enjoyed cheering on his favorite team. Above all else, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Richard will be dearly missed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara A. Henderson Stewart; brothers, Joseph, Willard, and John Stewart; and sister, Hilda Stewart.
