Robert Lee Sweetman

Robert Lee Sweetman, age 92, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Monday, September 25, 2023.

Born in Christiana, DE on August 4, 1931, he was a son of the late John D. and Frances (Harkness) Sweetman. Robert proudly served in the United States Air Force. He worked at General Motor’s for many years until his retirement.

Robert loved wood working and spent countless hours working on his clocks and furniture. He enjoyed traveling all over the United States and going on cruises.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his siblings, John Sweetman, Harry Sweetman, James Sweetman, Carl Sweetman, Helen Case, and Richard Sweetman. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Elizabeth (Pennock) Sweetman; son, Robert Sweetman; and extended family and friends.

The Sweetman family would like to extend a special thank you to Robert’s cancer doctor, Dr. Misleh, for his care and compassion during Robert’s illness.
