Rosemarie A. Shields, age 91, of Newark, DE, passed away on Friday, November 18, 2011.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, on November 10, 1920, Rosemarie was the daughter of the late Albert Widman and Rose Ann Finnigan. Her most important purpose in life was raising her family, but she spent many of her younger years working as a bookkeeper. Rosemarie also enjoyed sewing, ceramics, and playing the piano.
She is survived by her children, G. Michael Raser, Berkley B. Shields, Jr., Suzanne R. Pierce-Williams, and Barbara Ann Moore; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren; In addition to her parents, Rosemarie was preceded in death by two brothers; two sisters; and her daughter, Rosemarie P. Shields-French. She was loved by the many people whose lives she touched. She will be dearly missed.
A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, November 22, 2011, in the chapel of Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where visitation will begin at 1 pm. Interment will follow in the adjoining memorial park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choosing.
