Ruth Adele Bradley McCullough

Mrs. Ruth Adele Bradley McCullough, age 83, of Vero Beach, FL, formerly of New Castle, DE, passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2012, at the home of her daughter, Valerie McKinley Daugherty, in Severna Park, MD.
Mrs. McCullough was born in the Porter area of New Castle, on March 7, 1929, daughter of the late Dr. A.W. Bradley and Lola Gooden Bradley. She attended William Penn High School and was a graduate of the former Dickinson Junior College (now Lycoming University) in 1949.
She worked at the Chrysler Tank Plant Office for five years and as a preschool teacher at Aldersgate Church Preschool for three years and the Tatnall Preschool for five years. She was also a skin care consultant and color analyst for Aloe Charm Skin Care and Beauty Systems for 15 years.
Mrs. McCullough enjoyed her work in the skin care industry and also enjoyed playing bridge, traveling, reading, golf and other outdoor sports, and spending time in activities with her grandchildren and family.
She was very active in the New Castle Presbyterian Church for many years, serving as a Session Member and on several church committees. She was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Vero Beach. She was a former Queen Mother of the Red Hat Society and a member of Dodger Pines Country Club and Cavalier Country Club.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Louise Diehl of Pennsville, NJ, and Norene Frances Bradley of Porter, and brother, Merrill Bradley of Wilmington.
In addition to her daughter, she is survived by her husband, Robert A. McCullough, Sr., of Vero Beach and formerly of New Castle; stepchildren, Robert A. McCullough, Jr. of Rehoboth Beach and Linda McCullough Flanagan of Waldorf, MD; sister, Norma Bradley Shipley of Vero Beach, FL; and seven grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday, October 12, 2012, at the New Castle Presbyterian Church, 25 E. Second Street, New Castle, where visitation will begin at 10 am. Entombment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle. A reception at the church hall will follow the entombment.
