Ruthann Zickgraf, age 77, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2018.

Born in Wilmington, DE on March 31, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Lee Thomas and Minnie Adaline (Kosching) Graham.  Ruthann was a talented homemaker who loved preparing meals for her family, especially during the holidays. In addition to cooking, she enjoyed baking, gardening, and visiting casinos, including Delaware Park. Most of all, Ruthann loved spending time with her family and friends. She loved to laugh and will always be remembered for her infectious smile and her ability to uplift your spirit.

In addition to her parents, Ruthann was preceded in death by her loving husband of 47 years, Emmett J. Zickgraf, Sr.; son, William E. Zickgraf; and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by her sons, Emmett J. Zickgraf, Jr. and George G. Zickgraf (Claudia Buiano); sister, Violet McCabe; brother-in-law, George Johnson; grandchildren, William (Kimberly), Heather, Samantha, Nicole, and Elizabeth; 6 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, including Patsy Zickgraf.

A visitation will be held from 6 pm until 8 pm on Monday evening, February 26, 2018 at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE. A committal service will be held at 11 am the following morning, February 27, 2018 in the chapel at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Joseph B. Stahl Post #30 American Legion, 30 E. Jackson Avenue, New Castle, DE 19720.

  • Junior and George so sorry to hear that your Mother has passed away. She was a wonderful woman always made me laugh anytime I saw her. Heaven just got another Angel she’s with your Dad and Billy now. May she RIP.
