Mrs. Sarah King “Boots” Wilson, age 81, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, October 18, 2012.
A native Delawarean, Mrs. Wilson was born in Wilmington on November 1, 1930, daughter of the late J. Raymond King and Harriette Marsh King. She was an honors graduate of William Penn High School in New Castle and would go on to make her career as the office manager of the Concord Agency in Wilmington. With her beloved husband of 58 years, Jerry R. “Wilson” Wilson, she also assisted in the management of the family business, Wilson’s Termite and Painting.
Mrs. Wilson was an avid traveler throughout her life and delighted in taking interesting trips with her husband and their good friends. A talented and enthusiastic amateur bowler, she was an active member of local leagues for many years. She also enjoyed crabs feasts each summer. Although ill health in her later years prevented her from enjoying some of her favorite pastimes, Mrs. Wilson delighted in the company of her family and her many friends, cherishing the time spent with each one.
Jerry passed away in 2009. She is survived by her children, Deborah Wilson Taylor of Newark and Wayne A. Wilson of New Castle; grandchildren, Thomas A. Reed, Jr. of Newark, Debi M. Cheeseman (Leonard) of Elkton, MD, and Raymond J. Reed (fiancée, Kimberly) of Newark; and great grandchildren, Austin, Dylan, and Alexis.
Visitation will be held from 5 pm to 7 pm on Monday, October 22nd, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle.
